As hairdressing Sydney experts, we have to stay on top of hair trends, including new trends and comeback styles. In our opinion, these are some of the early 2000s hairstyles that will enjoy a comeback in 2021 and beyond.
COLOUR STYLES
Dark Lowlights/ Blonde on Black
The blonde on brown/black trend that we saw celebrities rocking in the early 2000s is definitely making a comeback. Already we have recently seen Dua Lipa and Avril Lavine reimagining and modernising this dramatic look. Hairdressing salons in Sydney are already getting numerous requests for this look, and in no time, it will be commonly sought after once more.
Really Chunky Highlights
For a while, chunky highlights were out, and style icons leaned towards more natural highlight looks. But now chunky highlights are back, although we’re not sure how long this trend will last. So best have some fun with it before it dies out again.

Butterfly Clips
If you were a fan of butterfly clips in the early 2000s, we have some great news for you…these are back in full force. Butterfly clips have absolutely boomed in popularity, and while the trend is somewhat childlike, it is being used by trendy teens and reminiscent adults alike! Bandanas
We can all thank Christina Aguillera, and Missy Elliot for their epic bandana looks in the early 2000s. Well, bandanas are back and come in two main forms: a street style and a boho look.
